Yes, I bought it. It’s the second time I’ve had a 1982 vintage, bottle-of-something. The first was about ten years ago, with a friend and colleague, sharing a bottle of 1982 Trotanoy. I’ll never forget it. And now this 1982 Borgogno Barolo Riserva.
Apparently when this cellar was purchased, some of the older, greater wines were re-released. And so I thought, what the hell, I’ll buy it. I may never get another chance which is silly really as I live about 10 min from Barolo. Frankly a shame they opened the bottle they did for tasting.
That and the fact that the 1982 vintage is slowly getting older (and likely not wiser). I can guarantee the wine is in better condition than me.
